AR-15, M-4, M-16 Type Rifles

The almost infinite variations of "black guns" are daunting.  The basic platform is pretty straight forward however proprietary components are more complicated.

One slip with a tool can cosmetically ruin a rather expensive piece of gear.  We have the capability to safely tear down these rifles, however it is not without elevated risk so extreme care and caution must be observed at all times.

For these reasons, LRI has a $100 minimum tear-down fee for rifles that do not use the conventional M-16 type, spanner style barrel nut, and QD slip ring hand guard attachment method.  Rifles with proprietary/aftermarket, non-standard handguards will be assessed an additional disassembly fee.

If you are unsure about the exact design of your AR, please contact us and we'll be happy to sort it out with you ahead of time.

Shipping/Insurance

LongRifles, Inc. ships ALL rifles and barreled actions in a gun case.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS.  Clients are welcome to provide a case if they wish.  We also carry an inventory of cases for the sole purpose of ensuring your property gets delivered to your door in pristine condition.   Cases that we supply are automatically billed to invoices.

Insurance is billed to the client once your property is ready to ship.  This rate is not fixed.  Calculations are based on the total replacement cost of your property after all work is completed.

The courier we use most often is US Postal Service Priority Mail.  We've had very good luck with the USPS.  The added benefit is we are dealing with Federal laws and policies concerning firearms.  Private couriers make their own rules regarding firearms.

LongRifles, Inc. possesses a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE).   We are authorized to ship, receive, and possess firearms shipped across state lines from other FFL's and private citizens.

We CAN legally ship a firearm you already own directly back to you.  New receivers/actions cannot be shipped directly to an individual.  They must first be sent to an FFL holder in your area.  You'll then be required to submit a form 4473 to determine eligibility to legally own/possess firearms.   Certain states have additional requirements.

We are not attorneys nor is it realistic for us to offer legal advice.  Ultimately, the responsibility of ensuring compliance with local, State, and Federal laws regarding transporting firearms/ammunition lies upon you.

Change Orders

A Change Order is a modification to a build after work has begun.  If we catch it in time there's no problem, we'll update the paperwork and move forward.  If we've already moved past the item you want to change, we're happy to go back and revise it, but the work already completed will be billed along with whatever additional fees apply to complete the alteration.   This can and often will alter the completion date.

Cancellations

Changing your mind through a project is your right, but it needs to be understood that we don't work for free.  If you elect to take your project someplace else you and your property will be treated with the respect you deserve.  There's no hard feelings.   If we've started on your project you will be billed for the work we've completed and payment is due prior to shipping your parts.

Refusals

An unfortunate side effect of any business is the rare occasion when we have to decide it's not in our best interest to do work for someone.  This is extremely rare, but it does happen.  LongRifles, Inc. reserves the right to refuse service/business at any time for any reason.  Should this unfortunate circumstance present itself, your property will be treated with the respect you deserve.  You will be billed for the work we've completed and payment is due before shipping your parts.

Unforseen Events

Life happens.   We all live it and understand that unforeseen events can affect a project's priority.  We would still like to keep our relationship with you.

If something pops up just call us.  Let us know You're working through a problem.  We won't try to dig into your life for an explanation.  If there's a chance you can continue at a later date, we can almost always put your stuff on a shelf and pick it back up when your situation improves.
